So this weekend the cup series is going to chicago for the Lifelock 400. Now everybody who has won this race is competing this weekend. Last years winner of course Mark Martin has not been very consistent and has no wins in 2010 as opposed to the 3 wins he had at this time last year. Also previous winners who have not won this year, Jeff Gordon (2006),Dale Earnhardt Jr (2005) and Tony Stewart (multiple 2004,2007). Lets start with Gordon He is consistent and keeps running top 5 numbers but just cant pull the trigger on the last lap will he be able to do it in the windy City? Dale Earnhardt Jr. it seems nascar's most popular driver is having confidence issues with Hendrick, Now we all know he took the win in the nationwide race at daytona last friday in the prestigious #3 but on saturday for the cup race he just seemed plain disgusted. So the question Arises will Jr be able to snap a 2 year losing streak in cup or will his emotions and the team get the better and lose yet another race. Tony Stewart has won the race twice and is looking stout in 3 top 5 finishes before the big one at Daytona took him out, will the two time winner have anything to say in his special Back to School Paint Scheme this weekend. Ryan Newman (won 2003) Stewart's teamate was able to seal a win at phoenix and break a losing streak of 2 years can Newman pull it out? Kyle Busch (won 2008) has won twice this season but has recently been going through a rut will JGR and the 18 team be able to overcome their hardships this weekend. Lastly Kevin Harvick won the race two years running in 2001 and 2002 and is the most recent winner edging out teamate Clint bowyer and RPM driver Kasey Kahne can Happy Harvick carry the momentum into Chi-town? Notes" Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin never won here and have won the most races this season, something to watch? Clint Bowyer and Kasey Kahne came close to winning at Daytona will Hunger prevail and lead them to Victory? All will be answered this weekend in Chicago stay tuned for more Countdown to the race.
