COUNTDOWN TO : Dollar General 300 presented by Coca cola

The Dollar General 300 at chicagoland has crowned 4 first time winners in it's 9 year run. In the inagural race "The Hills Bro.s Coffee 300" Jimmie Johnson won it for team Herzog (a team now disbanded)it was his first and only win in the nascar busch (nationwide) series. Johnny Sauter won the next year in the "Tropicana Twister 300" fitting as that was his first win as well. In 2003 Bobby Hamilton Jr scored his 2nd Career win in the race and his last competitive season. In 2004 Justin Labonte won the race by passing mike wallace on the last lap winning his first race ever. In 2005 Kevin Harvick shattered the first and 2nd win streaks at Chicago by winning the new sponsored USG Durock 300 and becoming the first driver to win the event in nationwide and cup . 2006 Casey Mears brings back the streak winning his first ever race and only win in the nationwide series. In 2007 Kevin Harvick became the first driver to ever win the race twice in both the series. In 2008 Kyle Busch made history with harvick by not only winning the race in nationwide but also in cup being the first ever driver to double up at chicago in the same weekend. In 2009 the kid Joey Logano won the race at the youngest age of a winner in chicago at 19 years old. This year things look interesting as Kyle and Joey could tie Harvicks two wins or Harvick could win again, the possibilities are endless with a possible double up by all the past winners in the last 3 years.
